Berenice Abbott – Commercial Photographer
Berenice Abbott devoted her life to photography. She began her photographic career in 1923 and in 1929 she went to New York and was a witness to changing America. With a fresh new perspective she began to photograph the rapidly evolving city of New York. To fully capture the transition of the city it became a 10 year project that she later named “Changing New York.” In 1939 Abbott’s first book “Changing New York” was published and her name and photos appeared in countless books, magazines and essays. At the same time she became a creative inventor and began to explore the area of scientific photography. In 1958 she began to photograph the scientific phenomena for the Physical Sciences Study Committee at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. This project became her most innovative and creative work, her scientific photography included elegant photos and her works showed understandable reality to the many complex concepts of physical science to her audience.
Jennifer Wu – Fine Art Photographer
Jennifer Wu was born in Illinois in 1968. She attended California State University and received her Bachelor of Photography. She has been a professional photographer since 1992 and is best known for her nature, landscape and night photography. She was named by Canon USA into the elite group of photographers named the “Explorers of Light.” She shares her love for nature photography in lectures and workshops for Canon. She also taught photography and digital imaging at CRC and California State University. She also leads workshops for Light Photographic Workshops, Canon and aFilm International Film workshops in Barcelona, Spain. Her pictures have been featured in many magazines and books and she has won a variety of prestigious awards. Her photos are also exhibited at nationally recognized galleries and art shows.
